Good Night Moon Baby Shower

My friend and I threw a Good Night Moon baby shower for a friend this past weekend. I made a banner using cardstock and the same stencils, twine and acrylic paint I used for my daughter's candy themed birthday party. Another friend made the the amazing cow and moon which looks perfect.
We also wanted to have a table with a lamp, comb, brush and a bowl of mush just like in the book. I had an end table at my house that I bought at a garage sale this summer so at the last second I decided to paint it yellow.
I started painting the top of the table when was like, Wait! I need to take a "before" pic!
Here is the table all primed. I used a foam roller for the top and a foam brush for the other parts. I just did it really fast since the shower was the next day.
I then sprayed the table with Rustoleum Painters Touch in Marigold which I had already bought to paint some wooden stars I had gotten at Hobby Lobby(see the outlines on the box).

The finished table! I also made a diaper cake using pre-painted stars from Hobby Lobby(.89 ea) and ribbon that was on sale for 1.99/roll for each color. We also used the ribbon to hang the larger spray painted stars(.99 ea) from the curtain rod in the living room. I didn't get a pic of this though :/ Now I just need to find a place in my home for this great accent piece of furniture. I'll post a pic once I find one!

Locker Night Stand

Locker I purchased at a garage sale for $2 then spray painted pink(Rustoleum Berry).  I really wish I took a pic of the locker before I painted it to compare but I forgot. Just picture a typical ugly white chipped office locker and that is what it looked like. The handle was already purple for some reason so I just left it like that.
Sprayed the inside white and Mod Podged scrapbook paper(Hobby Lobby $.59ea but goes on sale all the time. I used 2 full and 2 strips cut from a 3rd sheet) on the inside of the door.
I closer look at the inside.

Cute night stand for a little girl :)

Candy-Themed Party

My daughter's 4th birthday was in June so we had a candy themed birthday for her since she has such a sweet tooth.

Banner-Trace a bowl and cut out the circles for however many letters you need. I cut a little circle for the apostrophe. I used 4in. letter stencil's I purchased for $5 at Hobby Lobby that I filled in with white acrylic paint, also from Hobby Lobby. I then punch 2 holes in the top of each circle and strung them together with twine. (My husband says I should have stuck them to the wall with something other than masking tape but I was running out of time and I didn't want to ruin the paint on the wall.)

Balloon Candies-blow up balloons and wrap them in cellophane(found mine at Hobby Lobby near the wrapping paper.) I used rubber bands to secure then ends. I masking tape to stick them in the walls. We have some smaller ones that my daughter hung up(see how they're not even?? Oh well, it's her party.)

Table cloth-2 yards of red and white striped fabric from Hobby Lobby

The candy jars are an assortment I picked up at garage sales for cheap. I also found some plastic containers from the Dollar Tree(4/$1) that I ended up using since we had more candy then I thought.

I then had plastic cellophane bags on the table so guests could fill their own to snack on or take home.

Cute and Easy!

My First Dress

Here is the first dress I've ever made. I picked up the pattern at a Just Between Friends sale for $2. I added the ribbon tie because the size 4 was a little too big. I think the ribbon makes it look prettier too.

Valentine's Breakfast

Heart Pancakes-Used a ice cream scoop to add the batter to the hot skillet. Start at the left top and go up, around and down to a point, then back up and around to the start. Takes a couple times to get it right but still not very hard to do.

Heart Toast-I just used a heart shaped cookie cutter after toasting the bread. Easy.

A Tree

I also made this little tree today to go with the owl. I think I'm going to attach these guys to the diaper cake I plan on making.

I Did This, Can You?-Stampin' Up Party

Today I went to my first Stampin' Up party! It was a little intimidating at first because there seem to be a million little tools to use but once you make a couple it gets easier. Don't mind the sticky little spot on the Easter card. I was told it would come off with an eraser but it didn't seem to work for me.

So I also made this little guy today. You like??

I Did This, Can You?

After a trip to Hobby Lobby today I made these for my friend's baby shower. Hopefully there will be a table near the front entrance of the restaurant where her shower is be held at that I can arrange these on. I really need to go see this place so I can get a better idea for decorations but who wants to go do that with a 3 year old and a 1 year old in tow.
Oh also, I'd like to spray paint the frames(Dollar Tree) white but that all depends on the weather and if I have enough time.

Starting Out-Just Another Blog??

So I told a friend that I would help her with her baby shower and now I'm head of the decorations committee. Woo hoo! I volunteered thinking I make a couple cute things but now that I've started researching ideas and visiting craft stores(how can they have three aisles of stickers!?!)I can't seem to stop thinking of new ideas or things I want to try and make. I started by pinning a couple of my homemade things to Pinterest and they were repinned and liked enough that I decided to start a place that I could call my own. Now of course I search the internet and find and use other people's idea's and patterns but I will give credit where due and post a link so other's can use that same great idea. I really hope that I am able to keep up with posting new ideas, recipes, projects or whatever else I want to because it's MY blog.

Enjoy!
